During our focus week "Winter - Wonderland" in the district Floridsdorf (Vienna), we explored different ways of using public space in the cold months. In order to get to know the environment and its inhabitants better, we documented our observations using creative tools. Through creative writing, audio recording and photography we were able to collect some characteristics. On our way through the streets, we noticed a parking lot for old Christmas trees that we wanted to include in our intervention. The path at the "Pius Parsch Platz" was the most suitable, because it is a pedestrian zone where many people can stay on the benches. With the old Christmas trees, we transformed two benches into a soft and fragrant forest zone, where it was also possible to relax for a moment on the carpet. People's feedback was varied, but mostly positive and surprising.
